Food Adventure from Finch to Union!

This summer, my sister and  I decided to finally check this item off our bucket list

But why stop there? We both love to eat so why not make this into a foodie adventure? So we laced up our trainers and decided to embark on our biggest food adventure and hit restaurants, cafes, diners and from Finch to Union Station. We were completely confident that we could walk from Finch to Union in about 2.5 hour - 3 hours since we both go hiking but this trip took 5.5 hours with the multiple food stops we made. 

Originally, we had a list of 17 restaurants we wanted to hit up but unfortunately, it was taking too long as we had to finish by the early afternoon. So, 3 hours and 3 restaurants in, with a heavy heart we cut out almost 12 restaurants :( Oh well, more incentive to do this trip again!

On to all the places we went that day!!

So if you know us in real life, then you know that we are obsessed with this new interactive game that has been taking Toronto by storm. The basic premise behind these games is that they lock you in a room and you try to escape using clues from a variety of puzzles and obstacles. You know the iPhone/iPad games where you have to tap around to find clues to answer puzzles? Imagine that in a real life setting. It's SO much fun and definitely a new interactive experience!

I've passed by this dessert house many times on my way downtown but never thought twice to stop in!

Steam Kitchen - BEWARE of this restaurant

Decided to try the new restaurant at the Golden Court plaza in the little restaurant space under the plaza (that replaced Dickens Now). Left absolutely in shock and disgust at it.

Shiso Tree Cafe

Tucked away in J-Town, Shiso Tree Café is a hidden gem that is easy to miss. It specializes in Japanese-Italian cuisine and boy, does it do a good job! Heaps of steaming hot Italian pasta with Japanese-inspired sauces make this a notable place to eat.

Butter Avenue

I was finally able to make it to Butter Avenue (@butteravenue) which was conveniently located near my workplace. It's been opened since December 2011 but I just haven't been able to find the time to go!

Dolce Gelato

We got to Taste of Little Italy way earlier than it was to start. Ended up sitting in Dolce Gelato for a while. Great little cafe filled with authentic Italian desserts and of course, gelato!

Petite Thuet

Always in search for the next best macaron, I decided to try Petite Thuet, owned by acclaimed chef Marc Thuet (pronounced 'Too-it'). It was a nice quaint place - great for an afternoon snack and a nice place to quickly recuperate if you are ever in the area!
